2017 Co-Chairs: Heather and Dr. Jay Geoghagan
Dr. Jay and Mrs. Heather Geoghagan are native Arkansans. They met at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and have been married for over twenty years. They have two children, Adeline, a 2015 American Heart Association Sweetheart, and Nathaniel.
Dr. Geoghagan graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Heather obtained her masters degree from the U of A. The couple spent ten years on active duty in the United States Air Force. In 2007, the family returned home to North Little Rock where Dr. Geoghagan practices at Arkansas Cardiology and the Baptist Health Heart Institute. Heather works at the Arkansas Department of Health, focusing on reducing infant mortality.
A general cardiologist, Dr. Geoghagan focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Heart disease in women is of special interest to the Geoghagans because though it is the number one killer of women, many women do not know the signs and symptoms of heart disease. This is a prime reason he and Heather are so passionate about Go Red for Women and the educational initiatives of the American Heart Association.
The family is active in their church and have pursued running as a hobby for several years. Heather is a past committee member for the Go Red for Women Purse-onality auction, and both have been members of Circle of Red and Red Tie Society. They are excited to co-chair this year’s Go Red for Women.
