2015 Festival of Wines Co-Chairs: Andrew and Susan Meadors
Susan and Andrew Meadors, like many Americans, have personal reasons to take on the American Heart Association’s mission. Susan’s family has a history with heart disease and stroke. Meanwhile Andrew’s brother, Fred, works as a cardiovascular surgeon. The two have long been supporters of Festival of Wines and began their tenure as chairs with excitement about the 2015 event. For the couple, who are involved in many community organizations and committees, chairing the 2015 Festival of Wines seemed a natural extension of their interests and talents.
Susan is the principal in SKM Consulting, Inc., a human resources consulting firm that specializes in a multitude of functions. In addition Susan is passionate about working within her community. In 2014 she graduated from Delta Regional Authority-Delta Leadership Institute. She is also a graduate of Leadership Arkansas. She is also involved in a number of organizations including the Mayor of Little Rock’s Tourism Committee and the Arkansas State Chamber.
Andrew, a native of Little Rock, graduated from Catholic High School and earned his B.B. A from Southern Methodist University. Before joining Meadors, Adams & Lee, Andrew sold advertising for the CBS affiliate in Dallas – Ft. Worth. He moved back to Little Rock and joined his father’s insurance firm in 1987 as an Account Executive before being named a Partner to Meadors, Adams & Lee in 1999. Andrew is Immediate Past President of the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame and serves on the Board of Directors of the Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas. Additionally, he continues to give back to his Alma Mater, Catholic High School, by serving on the board of directors of the Catholic High School Foundation.
With such strong personal and professional ties to the Central Arkansas region, Andrew and Susan share a commitment to improving the health of the community by raising awareness of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
