Everyone knows someone who has been affected by heart disease or stroke. Both of my grandmas have had heart conditions that were treatable thanks in part to the hard work and dedication of the American Heart Association and their life-saving research. When my Noni was going through chemotherapy for breast cancer, the chemo affected her heart function tremendously. A year after chemo, her heart function was at 10% and she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. How can you live on 10% heart function…you can’t! She was very fortunate to have incredible heart doctors that were able to stabilize her heart with medication and monitoring. This allowed her to spend several more years with us. My Mimi realized that something was wrong when she had trouble catching her breath when walking around the block. After going to the doctor, they diagnosed her with Cardiovascular Disease. She had 3 stints put in one artery. Thanks to her heart doctors, she is back to doing everyday activities with ease. I have 2 very good reasons for wanting to support the American Heart Association!
I am honored to have been chosen as a 2017 American Heart Association Sweetheart. Through this program, I will have numerous opportunities to be educated on cardiovascular disease and strokes.
As a sweetheart, it is my personal goal is to raise $1000.00. Please help me reach my goal. All donations count…no matter how big or small. When you donate to the American Heart Association, you are joining us in the fight against our nation’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers – heart disease and stroke. Your donation will support such life-saving efforts as research, education, advocating for better health, improving patient care and reaching populations at risk.
In short, you are helping save lives. Your support will help. Your donation will help me take a stand against the #1 killer of Americans, including women. Not only will you help me achieve my goal, you’ll also help the American Heart Association make important advances against heart disease and stroke.
From the heart,
Molly Bohanan
